Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
I wish the song had a LITTLE more balls like "You Are" maybe the closest thing in their discog comparable to this.

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
Everyone has said it by now because it is so obvious, but yeah this track is very Talking Heads at the start. IMO it is too Talking Heads. The chorus is garbage and feels like it belongs to a different song. Nothing after about 2:30 really needs to exist

McCreadys guitar playing immediately made me think of Push Comes to Shove by Van Halen.

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
let's think big picture here.
GUYS, again, the comparison at this point in their career is VOODOO LOUNGE.
this is miles beyond that shit. they're 30 years in, coming off an average, by-the-numbers album and a TRUE low point single (CDM) and.. and... somehow came up with this! something they've literally never done before!
color me way more encouraged than i was just a few weeks ago.
don't look a gift horse in the mouth, this is good shit Jamily.

My man. The chorus lets the whole song down. And then it just kind of repeats itself a lot.The Argonaut wrote:Everyone has said it by now because it is so obvious, but yeah this track is very Talking Heads at the start. Remember when Arcade Fire worked with the LCD Soundsystem guy and they released a single that was kind of dancey and Talking Heads-y and everybody was like whaaaaaat
Like that except "Reflektor" is a good song that has more than one semi-interesting musical idea in it

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
I'm into these lyrics:
I know the girls wanna dance away their circumstance
I know the boys wanna grow their dicks and fix and fire things
I know the girls wanna dance
Clairvoyants in a trance
I know the boys wanna grow their dicks and fix and fire things
I know the girls wanna dance away their circumstance
I know the boys wanna grow their dicks and fix and fire things
I know the girls wanna dance
Clairvoyants in a trance
I know the boys wanna grow their dicks and fix and fire things

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
I give it a B+. It’s weird and very different. “Who You Are” 2.0 basically and I am fine with that. I just hope the entire album doesn’t sound like this. That would get old fast.
Also I hear drums, bass and one guitar. What is Mike going to do live? Key-tar maybe? Haha.
