basically everyone had a hand in it.

started with matt cam drums.

stone came in with the bass.

jeff added the keys.

mike added that funky guitar riff.

ed came in with they lyrics.

one by one, yield style. i love this origin story.
the best pj songs are built off a groove.

may the groove be back for gigaton.

One thing that seems apparent (and welcome) about this song is it doesn't seem like the kind of song a band would write while valuing first and foremost how it's going to be a killer live track. They've openly spoken about leaning into that on past records and it's hopeful that they seem to be leaning away from that, if this song is an indication.

It was a pleasure actually enjoying pearl jam with you all for an evening. I hope we're still there in the morning.

STELLAR!

not sure how this will sound live. But at this point I will take a new studio sound and a diverging live show. Strong A effort

I haven’t had a reaction to a new PJ song like this since I first heard You Are. :heartbeat:

Did I mention Mike’s insane guitar part and that Stone is playing bass on this one? We’ve opened some new doors creatively and that’s exciting."

Gigaton is a rather lame title however. I will think about that later after grooving to the clairvoyants a couple more time though

This really has set in after five listens. First listen I thought a distorted guitar might come and live it may well do.

This could become paired with Daughter live. It could easily seg into this.
