This one is a success. 20+ listens today, something I haven't done with new music in a long time. I can't add anything that hasn't been said already:

- the production is cleaner and instrumentation less muffled (electronics being on the track certainly help)
- listening to it on headphones, it has a Binaural quality
- the vocal lines are more interesting and Vedder isn't whining
- the lyrics are a little more mystical / indirect / obvious / subject to interpretation
- the song structure isn't a retread
- as a single it trumps every one released since I Am Mine
- it has a wide range of radio friendly hooks that will make it popular
- the band are challenging themselves somewhat in what is here
- 'recording songs to sound good live' is a bit like heading to a bar with a prophylactic readied in your pocket - abandoning that is essential
- BOB is a distant memory and that's something for all to rejoice
- lots of new influences to the band and the song, which hopefully carries forward into the album

The final minutes of this song made me feel things that I have not felt since a long time ago.

I'm in love with Calirvoyants.

It may not be great in and of itself, but it may represent something larger that the band is going to provide us in March. At least for me.

I concur. I'm interested to see what else they have now. I suspect this may be the best they have to offer, however.

Is the version we've all be hearing the single edit or the album version? Both the Mach 1 video and the first one appear to have the same song length--will the album version have a longer outro?

Wow, finally heard this on headphones. So much better, really hearing those guitar parts now. Finally getting that layered sound back from them.

Love this part:

not stayin down

Seeing a combined 89% favor-ability in this thread's poll is awesome.
The change in direction from CDM and the previous two albums is so good. Feels like Jeff had more of a say. I dunno. Been up since midnight, tired, back to work I go :hooray:

My first listen was on headphones, highly recommend. Quickly then listened in the car on the way to work....so good.

Yikes looks like I'm way late to the party. I forgot all about this which I guess says.....something?. The Dave Byrne impression threw me pretty hard because it's such a iconic delivery but...it kinda works. The vibe and outro is pretty cool. I don't really care about lyrics so....I wish the band attacked their parts a little harder....not like 90's fuzz box it up more like up the intensity especially Mike...maybe its my shit computer speakers but it's not all the way there. It's the best sounding record since Riot Act. There is nothing embarrassing here....no part where I think "ugh dumb". Pretty satisfied.
