It's nice to go back to the 1980s disco

You're a rock band. Please be one on the rest of the album.

Be honest...this is garbage. Long time Pearl Jam fan, but this is not them. Some creative doors need to remain shut.

I think they made a mistake and put on a Radiohead/Coldplay mashup.

Guys we want Rock,
PJ do it best when they Rock.

Ehhh lads, what's the craic with the drum machine?

I don’t get it. Took the worst part of the 80’s and made it the first single. I don’t have much hope now for the rest of the record.

Sounds like a b-side of RHCP...featured by Fall Out Boys.. I am very disappointed..

It’s a whiny 80s song. I don’t get it. Electric drums? Turning into the Cure in their golden years? If this is the album style, it’s a hard pass.
I genuinely wonder if the people who keep saying DOTC sounds ‘80s have listened to any new music in the past 20 years
My guess is they have not.

I really, really like that Mach 1 video too.
Same. 25 and counting for me.

3:40ish (though that may be ash).

Probably not, but it's like something that keeps appearing at the edge of your vision

I am liking the song the more I listen to it.

The only negatives I have to say are;
1. the intro is awful, I hate the guitars that come in at the 5 second mark,
2. Ed is wordy at times,
3. the outro just goes on and on
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

I don't think any new footage was shot for this particular video. Looks like chopped-and-screwed stock footage from FilmSupply.

What's even left of the song if you don't like those things?

Not a file but I’ve been streaming 24/96 on Amazon HD, playing back 16/44 in the car. Sounds very nice.

MMJ's Spring (Among the Living) keeps popping into my head and I haven't heard that song in a year. There must be something similar in the two songs.

He knows whatever he posts here now will be dredged up in a year to make fun of how wrong he was. This is the sacrifice we must all make.

I feel that fear and am pushing through with untrammelled excitement regardless.
