First post since listening. It's a great song.

I woke up this morning, did my morning bathroom routine, then grabbed my headphones and sat on the bed in my underwear, ready to listen but unsure what I was about to experience. The drums, bass, keys, vocals and guitar each cutting in, invigorating. A huge grin started to emerge. A grown man in his underwear with a huge grin on his face listening to new PJ in 2020.

I then put on clothes and walked to the bus stop to go to work, smiling and no doubt looking like a massive wierdo to everyone else grudgingly going to work. I decided I may as well indulge myself and give it a second listen while I waited for the bus in case I deliriously imagined a good song in my morning haze. Alas I did not imagine it. I smiled even more. At some point I must have entered a trance because it was during the outro that I realised I missed my bus. It came and went as I stood at the stop, too distracted by what I was listening to, still smiling.

that's impossible to answer. Certainly not as much. I have a relationship with the band and especially with Eddie's voice that means everything is judged on a different scale.

But maybe. Mark lanegan has been producing a lot of music in this wheelhouse, and his voice carried me into songs I would have otherwise not considered.

I do feel some of Lanegan's Blues Funeral here, along with the talking heads comparrison.

First listen - was ok, definitely different. Expect Brandon Flowers to start singing (haven't gotten 'the man' out of my head since listening to Dance of the Clarvoyants)

Liked the long intro, although a bit too much of an 80's the sound, do like a long intro and the length of the song is good. The last 2 mins are pretty good but maybe too much lyrics over the top of each other in parts, gets a bit messy.

Dislikes: Eddies voice is a bit of a struggle at times, and the range that works for him these days doesnt give the song the lift it needs in parts. Not sure if its the copy ive heard on radio but seems some of the lyrics in the first few lines are disjointed/cut off (is there swearing - sounds like it had been edited). The chorus is really flat, could have done a better job on that i reckon.

I would have liked a bit more rhythm and not all disjointed guitar but hey, new sound. Hope the whole album isnt like this but overall, its growing on me a little bit each time. Probably listened to it 5 times, once i got bored, other times been growing.

It is funny how the song plays, drums, then bass, then keys, then lyrics, then guitar (exactly how it was created except eds lyrics before mikes guitar)

It's been 7 years since the last PJ album and I know you all have huge throbbing glistening vascular hard-ons for new music.

But when the hyped has died down and the dust has died down, can we not all agree that this song is fucking ass?

- Crappy keyboard synths which have no business been anywhere near a rock band like PJ
- Vedder sounds bad - admit it, he hasn't sang well since 06
- Tinny drums
- Batshit stupid lyrics about throbbing vascular dicks
- Too long and repetitive
- Brickwalled to shit ("bUt tHeReS a NeW pRoDuCeR duuuuuur")

The basic chord structure is not original at all. It's very paint-by-numbers. Same as the rhythm. I'm so tired of hearing those Cameron mechanical boring drum beats. And Ed is trying too hard. His lyrics are mechanical too. Music should not sound like this. It should feel natural and joyful. I like to introduce exciting new music to raz that I'm excited about. Because of me, she now loves the national. She calls them her favorite band. I will not be playing her this song. It's really bad. It does not excite me in any way. I wanted to like this. Pearl Jam are done. Time to move on.
