4 stars for me. I really like it but 5 stars are reserved for the best of the best and this isn't quite there for me.Anders wrote:Easily five stars.
I don't really get the hate for this song. Seems to be rather polarizing among the fan base. I think it's a solid rocker, plus Matt is pretty amazing. Re: Fatal, oh how it's nice to think what Binaural could have been. Add Sad, add Fatal, keep everything else, maybe add Education, and Binaural become my favorite PJ album. It's pretty damn good as it too, but I just really like Fatal and I'm baffled as to how / why it was cut.Clem Halibut wrote:I've never cared much for this song. They should have dropped this one and put "Fatal" on the record
It is great, but not better than Fatal.Leatherhead wrote:Yea this song is great. Better than Fatal.
Agree. I've always had a soft spot for this one and MFC.EJ wrote:probably one of the most underrated gems in their catalog

Re: Song of the Moment: Gods’ Dice
Anyway, some things that make this song brilliant:
*stumbling, tumbling chords mirroring lyrical anxiety/uncertainty
*drums also halting, stuttering, unsure
*great guitar sound
*until the bridge, this bitch doesn’t stop
*the bridge! Fuck me it’s simple, and wonderful. Heavenly sounds and ALL GODS’ DIIIIIIIICCCCEEEE
*hahahaha

This is one of a handful of songs I didn't think much about until I heard it live. Specifically, East Troy in 2003, if you want to hear a great version. Loved it ever since.

My love for this one totally expanded when I saw it live. 7/23/06 was perfect.Homeboyd wrote:This is one of a handful of songs I didn't think much about until I heard it live. Specifically, East Troy in 2003, if you want to hear a great version. Loved it ever since.
