Probably kept me the same, i now know a little bit about each song, including the lengths which is nice, but i haven't read the last couple word for word because i don't want to know too much about it before i get to hear it myself

I'm still operating under the assumption that this thing is going to suck.

what we heard confirmed that there are some more involved tracks, which means we won't have backspacer 2, that the atmospheric piece from the tour film is in there, which I wanted, and that L-bolt and future days both sound better on the album. Eddie apparently sounds good. That lays to rest most of the concerns I had.

Sure, but most of them don't mean much without hearing what they're hearing. Atmospheric could mean Inside Job. I don't know what Eddie sounding good means, because I really don't seem him reverting to the way he sang pre-2006. I still don't like Mind Your Manners or the live songs I we heard. So far, it does seem better than Backspacer, and probably not quite Backspacer part 2, but that's an incredibly low bar for me.

I will say this though: I'm obviusly going to listen to it, and I'll admit it if I'm wrong and this thing is great. But for me, the best case scenario that seems realistic to me is better than Backspacer, on par with the better song on Self Titled, but still nowhere near the pre-self titled greatness.

I think my tone is being misinterpreted today.

Quite possibly. Things are a little out of whack here at the moment, so I think some of us are having misconstrued interpretations.
