Is Buckle Up still a good song in your view?
it was described by Cohen as follows, which leaves things open to the imagination:
Buckle Up,” written by guitarist Stone Gossard, surfs a dexterous major-key guitar line and is one of the more abstract songs on the album, but serves as the perfect lead-in to Vedder’s “Comes Then Goes,” sporting Pete Townshend-worthy acoustic guitar aggression and the memorable lyric, “We could all use a savior from human behavior.”
It was my least favorite song on the album. But some are gonna LOOOOVE it. Mayyybe parachutes-like. Ok yes. It’s parachutes mixed with around the bend. But I love both those songs. Their baby? Not so much.
But again. This is based on one listen. I didn’t like Around the bend when I first heard it.
OK, valuable information
everyone hear that?
time to recalibrate
still a lot to look forward to here

a lot of people couldn't pick 'parachutes' out of a line up
glad you could score an invite to this

so if i am to combine stone's dispiriting description of straight ahead rockers and spare ballads with kid c- dispiriting description of logical extension of lightning bolt i'm left... dispirited.

Lots of layered vocals. It sounds full without being polished. The drums sounded different. The last track is pure fucking magic. The same effect of indifference. The songs sound nothing alike but it’s that remarkable of a closer.

We had 3 months left to love this album and Kid-C took it away in a matter of minutes.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

Honestly the descriptions, outside of Retrograde, don’t sound very LB. Hearing about all the layering and some of the things Evans says still has me optimistic.

perk up there, kiddo
a lot to like here
layering
dolby whatever
first 4 tracks sound great
some kind of parachutes-around-the-bend hybrid
river cross
sure there might be 2 spritzy punkers and an anthem
but there's probably a lot here you're gonna like
