Yeah it still works. It's a little scratched up here and there but only from using it casually over the years, nothing major. And every once in a while, not very frequently, it says my SD card is empty so I have to take it out and put it back in and everything is there. But when that happens it takes away all the "favorite" designations I put on songs to build a decent playlist I can put on shuffle without skipping songs a lot.

I don't know, how much would you be willing to spend on a used x5? I'm not trying to gouge you here, but I'm perfectly ok just keeping it as a backup device or something to just leave plugged into my stereo.

I'm solidly in the ipod camp mostly because I've used one since the first gen. Model. Right now I've got an 128 GB ipod touch and thinking of upgrading to the 256 model. My itunes library is close to 400 gb, and I haven't found a good way to import that much data into a different program while still keeping my playlists and song counts intact.

I also ordered a new cable for my HD598s so I can use the balanced output.

So I've had the M11 Pro for a couple days now and I'm very happy with it. I loved the X5 but this sounds even better.

But today, the balanced 4.4mm cable arrived for the Sennheiser HD598s and holy shit it's even better. I'm blown away by it. However, there's a serious flaw with the cable I bought. It's made of this rough braided plastic and when the cable runs together the vibration of that travels and it sounds like someone is scratching against the outside of the headphones right over your ear. Unacceptable, I'll have to find another one.

Always following this thread for when my iPod classic finally dies. One of the final iTunes updates actually took away the ability to transfer music onto the iPod with artwork--it's infuriating to have dozens of albums with no artwork. Almost wants to make me move on to a new player.

Did the M11 really set you back 650 bones, or are there places you can get it cheaper than Amazon?
