The "save your predictions, and burn your assumptions" line, mixed with the intro of Mike's guitar is a classic PJ moment. Gets me everytime.

I'm really fond of the delivery of "...and equally... hard to control" for some reason

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
I've probably listened to this song 50+ times now. And, I'm not nearing fatigue yet. But, I'll take a break anyway.
Anyway, especially love Ed's delivery in these sections. He just nails them:
Love is friction
Ripe for comfort
The looser things get
The tighter you become
The looser things get....tighter
Falling down, not staying down
Could'a held me up, rather than tearing me down
Drown in the river

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
This morning I listened to studio versions of WWS, Save You, DotC, Grievance and MYM. DotC is BY FAR the most sonically pleasing record out of the bunch. The production on this is perfection. It might be my favorite "sounding" song sing Given to Fly.

the delivery on this whole run is just fantastic...
So save your predictions
And burn your assumptions
Love is friction
Ripe for comfort
Endless equations
And tugging persuasions
Doors open up
To interpretation

i'm trying to get a little distance from it in order to "properly" rate it but I can't.EJ wrote:I've probably listened to this song 50+ times now. And, I'm not nearing fatigue yet. But, I'll take a break anyway.

Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
one of the things that's making me happy about this song is that if it weren't for the synth, and the wicka-wicka-wah funk guitar -- if all of that was replaced with the fuzzy straight riff of something like "Bushleaguer" -- this song could fit right into Riot Act; and I'm not having to look past any synthetic BO'B nonsense to hear it
the song builds and crescendos organically, and that alone has me excited to see what the album's got

Listened a few times today...i love the outtro. And yes, it kinda vaguely reminds me of the layered vocals in WMA.
Fuck, what a cool song.
