Re: Dance of the Clairvoyants
And i was in the no leak club for LB and claimed pj could do no wrong. Then someone used this line on me without referencing pearl jam! "Let me catch my breath to breathe"

Geez, cringe. I found this pretty poorly written. I expected better of CoS. How many times does he have to mention the words 'electronic' and 'dance' in the same article? "There's synth on this? It's not real rawk! It must be electronic dance music? Real PJ fans are going to be so confused!"Tim wrote:Song of the week at Consequence of Sound - https://consequenceofsound.net/2020/01/ ... irvoyants/

Ha! Yeah, this is definitely rock music. Few would describe The Who as a dance group, but they sure as hell used those synths constantly from the 70s on. And really this song is sort an amalgam of a variety of sounds - there’s the Frusciante era Chili Peppers guitar delivery, the Talking Heads synth and vocal delivery vibe, and signature Pearl Jam subject matter. It also builds in the same vein as a Pearl Jam song tends to do.bluestate wrote:Word count:bluestate wrote:Geez, cringe. I found this pretty poorly written. I expected better of CoS. Saying synths makes it 80s or dance would be like calling Hail Hail with horns a Miles Davis tune.
