I still see very little problem with Amongst the Waves; if nothing else, it very importantly begins the "undertow" saga, which I hope to hear elaborated on by Ed one day

I started to try and think about these lyrics but I realized that I only really have concrete thoughts about the second half (from "I'm in love..." onwards); there is an awful lot of abstractions in the first verse and I want to be able to ground my ideas about later stuff in that verse, but it's just riddles trying to find a thought

someone else had ideas about the "confusion is to... as love is to..." but I can't remember who it was
