Looking forward to this. I listened to SOTSOG the other day and remarked how much I have come to adore the Noel sung tracks along with Gas Panic being one of my favorite live performances I have seen.LetMeSleep wrote:

I keep forgetting that one, though Shockwave has been getting a lot of play on the radio station I normally tune-in to.bada wrote:Giving Liam's last solo album try.

Re: Oasis Universe (Liam vs Noel)
That podcast was pretty enjoyable and got me to throw on the full album demo, thanks LMS. It really was a crazy time for the band, albeit less crazy than the BHN coke-fueled recording and subsequent tour but shit sure was hitting the fan.
The B-sides from the SOTSOG record are really top notch as well.

I don’t think I ever made it to the end of SOTSOG. I do love Go Let It Out though. I’ll be sure to check out Side B one day.

Re: Oasis Universe (Liam vs Noel)
It took me a while but I really dig it. The production is a little sterile (compared to Noel’s records, which I think are produced very well) but i find it much more interesting than BE or As You Were.bada wrote:Giving Liam's last solo album a try.
I’ve seen both Gallagher brothers live in the past six months, both opening/co-headlining shows unfortunately. Noel and his band were awesome. Liam was a lot of fun but his voice wasn’t in very good shape.

Re: Oasis Universe (Liam vs Noel)
Nothing from Liam has stuck with me but I enjoy Noel's output since Oasis. Liam's output just makes me yearn for Oasis, whereas Noel's output has grown beyond sounding like Oasis lite. In album order and they're all Noel songs, my top twelve is;
If I Had A Gun...
AKA... What A Life!
Soldier Boys & Jesus Freaks
Stop The Clocks
Riverman
The Girl With X-Ray Eyes
Lock All The Doors
Fort Knox
Holy Mountain
She Taught Me How To Fly
Dead In The Water
God Help Us All - demo

Stop The Clocks
Riverman
The Girl With X-Ray Eyes
Lock All The Doors
Fort Knox
Holy Mountain
She Taught Me How To Fly
Dead In The Water
God Help Us All - demo
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Re: Oasis Universe (Liam vs Noel)
Great list. I love pretty much all of Noel’s output of the past ten years. The new dance-y tunes are enjoyable, no matter how much flack they get from Oasis fans.surfndestroy wrote:Nothing from Liam has stuck with me but I enjoy Noel's output since Oasis. Jumping around their solo stuff Noel's songs are often great but vocally he can't carry an entire album. Meanwhile Liam sounds great (at least in the studio) but his songs are often lacking. They need each other.

I don't feel they need each other but I said something very similar on the previous page... in 2017.bada wrote:Jumping around their solo stuff Noel's songs are often great but vocally he can't carry an entire album. Not sure if I put this in this thread at any point but I had a Noel's Masterplan collection of B-Sides that I thought worked really well:
Full On
Step Out
The Fame
Flashbax
It's Better People
Shout It Out Loud
Carry Us All
(As Long As They've Got) Cigarettes In Hell
D'yer Wanna Be A Spaceman
Take Me Away
Half The World Away
Angel Child (Demo)
One Way Road
Just Getting Older
(You've Got) The Heart Of A Star
Idler's Dream
Have to interrupt my Nine Inch Nails and Skinny Puppy playlist to listen to the '99 demo clips now.

watched Yesterday and the best joke in the movie was him finding out that Oasis never existed either.
