I also don't enjoy them, by and large. It's just dishonesty, designed to make someone look foolish. How is that funny? The only way it can possibly be not terrible is if it's so blatantly obvious and inclusive that it's an obvious joke. The more you try and obscure that it's a joke, the less humour there is in it (or, at least, it turns into something a lot less good-natured at that point).
I don't believe you need therapy.*
