Re: NBA Thread
I feel bad for Shaq. He obviously feels guilty now for the feud, based on what he said on air tonight, but he shouldn't. Shaq was a class act!

I love 'Uncle Shaq' and hope he gets through this tough time with all the tragedy he's dealt with lately.

Jimmy Butler should be in the three point shootout. See if he can get himself out of his season long brick fest.

Seriously. It's weird because he's fit in and been a huge addition in so many ways, but man his shot has been awful this year. Can't hit a 3 to save his life. Even his midrange game has been bad. It hasn't mattered as much as it could because he doesn't take a ton of shot attempts, has been effective as a default PG, and he's been very good at getting to the line.verb_to_trust wrote:Jimmy Butler should be in the three point shootout. He doesn't have to actually be able to shoot, just draw fouls. I'm sure it's very pleasing to the eye. How about they just feed Bam?4/5 wrote:Seriously. I mean it is absurd. Trae Young over Bulter? Please.Electromatic wrote:But Eric Spolstra thinks it's BS he wasn't voted in as an All Star Starter......verb_to_trust wrote:Jimmy Butler should be in the three point shootout. See if he can get himself out of his season long brick fest.
I mean that's been his game this year. They feed Bam a decent amount and there's usually a lot of shots for Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro as well. Butler is only taking 13 shots a game.verb_to_trust wrote:He doesn't have to actually be able to shoot, just draw fouls. I'm sure it's very pleasing to the eye. How about they just feed Bam?

verb_to_trust wrote:"Kobe how my ass tatse" was classy indeed
As you might remember I hate everything Lakers and was never a Kobe fan but this whole thing is awful. That poor family. Hearing reports he was at mass that morning at 7 am. Just keeps getting sadder.
Also, Bulls question for you. Not like we make the moves but would you swap Levine for Aaron Gordon?

It's not counted as a shot attempt when he flops for a foul though. You still have to watch him do that with your eyes. He's the Eastern conference Harden. That TJ Warren thing was still cool though.4/5 wrote:I mean it is absurd. Trae Young over Bulter? Re: NBA Thread
Both are on very similar contracts. I'm keeping Zach over Gordon for sure though. Both are fatally flawed players but Gordon seems to have stagnated where with Zach you can't really dispute he has taken steps forward offensively. Both the Magic and Bulls are screwed until they luck into a real star in the draft though.veddar10 wrote:verb_to_trust wrote:"Kobe how my ass tatse" was classy indeed

Re: NBA Thread
Trae Young absolutely deserves to start over Jimmy Butler. What's the argument for Jimmy? That the Heat are in 3rd place in the East? He can take his reserve role and stfu. Maybe he'll turn his nose up at it and refuse to play like he did a few years ago?

Re: NBA Thread
You're totally right on Gordon. I think he does it to himself though. When he gets it down low he punishes people and actually shoots well when he takes good shots that are set up for him. He just takes a lot of stupid shots and overdribbles himself into trouble. Gordon is significantly better defensively but it has been very disappointing this season to see his offense take a step back when he should be averaging 20 easily. The Magic blame a lot of it on injury issues he's been battling this year but that doesn't excuse his shot selection. Maybe he needs a change of scenery because he must know in the back of his mind that Jonathan Isaac is passing him all around.verb_to_trust wrote:Both are on very similar contracts. Re: NBA Thread
Isaac getting hurt was a bummer, but they've sort of held it together without him to my surprise. I'm hoping they can edge out the Bulls for the 8 seed. The Bulls have a very tough schedule remaining and have been really hurt by injuries recently.

And the Magic's schedule gets much lighter. I'd rather seethe Bulls than the Nets and the Magic in 7th but we'll see. Fuck Kyrie.

Is Gordon playing more at the 4 with Isaac's injury?

Not really. Mostly at the 3. Clifford has been starting either Khem Birch at the 4 next to Vuc or occassionally Wes Iwundu at the 3 and Gordon at the 4.Monkey_Driven wrote:Is Gordon playing more at the 4 with Isaac's injury?

The Pacers were this close to becoming the second .500 team to lose to the Bulls this season. The Pacers played this guy name Goga Bitadze at C for like an entire quarter and it made me physically angry how bad at basketball he was.

in fairness to Shaq:verb_to_trust wrote:"Kobe how my ass tatse" was classy indeed
1) This was hilarious and is one of the best rap tracks of all time
2) Kobe was a massive dick in that era and Shaq did a great job for years of not having a public flameout although he may have deserved it
