I don't skip it - the number of songs in their catalogue that I skip is very low and is called Sweet Lew - but it's not great. I liked the 'sung' parts way more than the spoken.

I still think the lyric and delivery of "how does he do it? how does he do it? uncanny and immutable!" is cutting and hilarious and Ed has rarely pulled off that tone as well as in this song

Oooo, Numbers. I love Riot Act and I hope Gigaton is their best since RA, but I gotta go VS or Vitalogy or No Code before RA.

I basically love everything up until Riot Act, but Riot Act and Binaural alternate as my fav.

bushleaguer remained the lowest point on the album on my most recent listen. this is now definitely ahead of Binaural and No Code for me. Yield and S/T excite me less and less each year, and while their top songs dwarf my favorite songs on Riot Act if I was gonna pick one of these to listen to right now it would be Riot Act

bushleaguer takes a lot of shit for a variety of reasons but the background music is actually kind of interesting

I feel like i remember Stone being bummed initially about the spoken word because he liked the music and figured it wouldn't get much play unless Ed was singing it.

I like it pretty well like it is

Iirc they did record a version of Bushleaguer with Ed singing instead of speaking.

It has some of the coolest sounds on the album. I’ve always put Bushleaguer in the “like” column.

I loved it when Bowie did this. Surprise albums are the best.

Eric Church drop a surprise album and just gave to fan club members on vinyl. He bought a record plant in Germany , and even kept it secret from his label. It also happens to be really solid album.
