Wow. We would not be talking about this band today or even remember them had this video been released

Comically embarrassingly bad

The original even flow video

It’s pretty representative of the band everyone fell in love with, for better or worse.

Speak for yourself grandad, I was 8 years old when Ten was released.

I think that video is slightly less ridiculous and embarrassing than the flannel, long hair and stage-diving version of the band.

Seems like we more or less agree. Eddie convulsing in his chair on Jeremy isn’t less cringe-worthy than this.
Most of the music has aged well; the persona has not. It’s easy to see the train of thought that caused the band to withdraw and not do videos for the next few albums. Maybe I’m projecting but it’s that band that most of us stuck it out for.

I have no idea how anyone took the Jeremy video seriously at the time.

If the band became increasingly self-conscious because Kurt Cobain (rightly) made fun of them, he was indirectly doing them a huge favour.

I’ve never seen that Evenflow video before. Wow. I couldn’t bring myself to watch even half of it.

But I think the Jeremy video is great.

Eddie's schtick/persona seemed original and honest back in the day, though. Looks totally cringe now of course, but that's because his singing and behaviour was subsequently copied by so many crap bands. So he cut out the yarling and the eye rolling and quivering etc.

But when he first emerged doing all that shit it was fresh and interesting- bear in mind that this was the time axl was running around in cycling shorts and a kilt.

Yeah Eddie looks like a dick in the old videos now, but back in the day I thought he was as cool as fuck.

While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

I mean. I’m pretty certain they all hates doing such a video. I can imagine Ed was thinking how dumb it was so he might as well act even dumber.

I think the way he acted in those years was both totally serious and totally contrived.
