Dame this season is just Harden last season. Except Houston made the playoffs.

We’ve known this about Dame for 5 years, fun to see new fans coming out of the woodwork.
Last year the know nothing's in this thread asked me to fill out my ideal roster within the current cap limits. Dame was my franchise and I got crap from knuckle dragging Giannis fans like Spike.
Dame has been clutch for years. He buried Houston several years ago with that nasty dagger 3 pointer. Aldridge was Portland's main guy then but it was clear Lillard was the more important player going forward for them. He wouldn't be my #1 pick but he's up there.

You need a franchise player. Dame is THE franchise player. The rest of my roster was something like this if I recall:

Lillard
Beal
Jarrett Allen
Kawhi
Siakam

The money works, and Kawhi is the best player on the team but can you really count on Kawhi? Its Dame. If Dame was on the Lakers he'd be an absolute legend by now.

I was really tripping by having Allen starting at Center and Bam off the bench btw, so I'm not always right.

Like, scoring 54 against the Bulls isn't that impressive...

I also declare that nobody on team verb will be allowed to wear #8 or #24.

Dame is awesome. Love that guy.

On guys wearing or not wearing 8 and 24 I think if a dude had that number as a Kobe tribute then he has every right to keep wearing it. I get the idea of retiring it to honor him but that strikes me as such a temporary thing (other than for his actual franchise) whereas every time a dude puts that 8 or 24 on for the rest of his career it's honoring him.

I was worried LeBron's speech was going to be a cringefest, thankfully it wasn't. It wasn't particularly good either, but it wasn't awful or overly self-absorbed, so I'll call it a win.

Let's start the Dame MVP talk. If he gets the Blazers to the playoffs, crown his ass.

Rockets are leading the Pelicans at the half. I hope they win.

Boyeln quotes from today:

“I think Cris Felicio has helped us win some games. He’s played good minutes."

"Lauri Markkanen’s effective field goal is I think the highest it’s been in his career." [Markkanen's eFG% of 51.5 is 0.3 behind his rookie mark of 51.8]

After calling a timeout down down 26 with 1:04 left in the game:

“I was trying to run something with my second group. I got a G League guy in there [Adam Mokoka], who I haven’t coached much, on an ATO, I don’t stop coaching the team because we’re down. I’ve never done that, never will. I’m going to coach the guys on the floor."

Your reaction Zach? (Stay until the end)

Im hearing Derrick doesn't actually want to leave Detroit, and now he has a "groin problem". He definitely doesn't like moving. He broke down crying when the Bulls traded him. Maybe he just wants to pad stats on the Pistons where he's sort of close to home and out of the spotlight? I just want him to be happy.

Listening to The Lowe Post for the first time in a long time to hear some trade deadline talk. I forgot how disgusting and relentless the mouth noises are on this pod. Lowe is always slurping something and Windhorst, my God, I have no idea what's going on with that fat fuck. Is he eating? Constantly swallowing? Sleep apnea while Lowe talks?
