I hear where that comparison came from, for sure.
I feel like I'm going on very little; it's probably just the use of the pump organ in both (Better Days may be a harmonium, but they aim for similar sounds).

This wasn't the song that was compared to "Better Days"

His follow-up post is even more confusing about how PJ’s music serves a purpose and sports are a distraction from that purpose...

ed has been trying to mesh his lyrics with sports so the songs can be applied to an underdog sports team for years now.

While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

Is the grunge spirit that orange foggy tinge from smells like teen spirit and zoo even flow?

He must have loved Let's Play Two.

I concur with Long Road and also Better Days comparisons.

Maybe this is what Future Days should of sounded like.

I like that the two songs so far have a distinct first part/second part structure. Not just verse/chorus/bridge repeat structures.

I hope we will see a bit more of it thru out Gigaton. Pendulum on Lightning Bolt was the only one I can think of that had the same set up.

Don't have anything pithy or clever to say, but, that sounds great so far. Bring on the album!
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Wonder if the final version will have Harrison Ford on it

The image of Harrison Ford hunching over a keyboard at the back of a Pearl Jam gig tickles me absolutely pink, everybody. Now this album will never meet my expectations.
