The Rockets can't win without a bigger frontcourt than what they have. PJ is a beast but that shit won't work against Denver, Lakers, even the Jazz.

Didn't they just want to get under the tax and embrace who they think they are analytically by doing it?

Are you sad it wasn't Andre Drummond instead?

No, I'm happy to have a good center signed for a few years, Drummond I believe is a UFA next year and thus far, Free Agents aren't interested in playing here.

Even if Trae is good. I was already a Capela fan. Drummond is the kind of move we'd make in the past, resign him and then get stuck losing in the early rounds of the playoffs for most of the next decade.

This team sucks on defense, turns the ball over like it's their job and doesn't get enough boards. At the very least, they added more rebounds and better defense, and presumably a healthy body which is kind of a big deal right now.

Trae is awesome, but he turned the ball over 9 times the other night versus the Celtics.

Trae is so terrible defensively. Having a rim protector like Caoela will help with that.

I guess? Maybe Morey just wants to burn it all to the ground because even he hates watching this team?

No way. Morey is the only one who likes the Rockets.

Rockets get Covington, who they were eyeing all along. That is the end game they wanted.

If they don't this is heckuva head scratcher.

They're doubling down on a style of play that has proven to be successful, but not quite successful enough to make the Finals. They now have no roster flexibility at all to play different kinds of lineups. I think the West is wide open but they're going to have very serious issues against Anthony Davis, Jokic, or Gobert in the playoffs.

So in other words, they're still the Rockets.

Right.
But an exaggerated version of that strategy. Seems like AD or Jokic are each putting up 40 a night against that and the Rockets are getting murdered on the boards.

To be fair to the Rockets, large Idiot is a pussy, likes to hang out on the perimeter, and refuses to play the 5. I'd be more worried about the strategy working out against Denver. Jokic might actually try to maximize the disadvantage instead of wishing he wasn't an awkward Large Idiot playing pretend wing half the game.
