Damn Jojo Rabbit got me.

Its still a very minor movie, a fell good of sorts...its a shame its doesnt try to be reverent or really follow the first minutes of the movie, but it got me. Its very emotional in the last half, and the kid is wonderful.

Watched Joker last night. The best thing about the movie was finding this song and artist. I’d never heard it before. Produced by Paul Simon.

I’m sad I won’t get to see Sandler win an Oscar tonight but this fantastic speech is a great consolation prize

Parasite should win Best Picture (based on what's nominated). But it's going to win Foreign Language Film, thereby making all but certain that it won't win Best Picture. In that case, my hope is for Jojo Rabbit to win Best Picture. But I don't like those odds either. I'm guessing that means 1917 wins and I'm okay with that.

Though, I really don't care. This is the first Oscars in a long time where I don't have any movie I'm really pulling for in the majority of categories. I just don't want "Once Upon a Time" to win anything. I'm actively rooting against that movie (which I don't think I've ever done at the Oscars?) more than I'm rooting for anything.

i think these are the best oscars in a long time. The quality of the nominees is so fucking good. Of course, i should have left out a few of them and add another, but still im impressed on how good these movies are.

Once Upon a time, The Irishman and Parasite are so fucking good, masterpieces on their own right. Followed by very strong cases behind. Marriage Story and Jojo are the only ones i felt they dont deserve to be in this conversation and still, they grabbed me with different things.

Very strong year.

Disagree completely. Most of the nominees this year range from meh to pure shit.

Or even great work that is nominated but not in the right categories.

The whole thing is a mess this year.
