It’s “son, she said” at least according to the album notes.knee tunes wrote:I always thought it was "son, she said...."stip wrote:while they are simple lyrics I’ve always loved ‘so she said/have I got a little story for you’. i love how it feels like it could go anywhere- that may be eddie’ delivery though

Posted this the other day in the Parting Ways (song of the moment) thread:
“Behind her eyes there‘s curtains And they’ve been closed to hide the flames” is perfect. Amazing tone setter.

Binaural has quite a few, as I've been thinking.Habitman wrote:Posted this the other day in the Parting Ways (song of the moment) thread:

There's a girl on the ledge, she's got nowhere to turn
Cause all the love that she had was just wood that she burned
Pretty much sums up that character in just two lines.

Re: best opening lyrics
Plaque on the wall says that no one's slept here
It's rare to come upon a bridge that has not been around or been stepped on
I don't really understand these lyrics but I really like them.
But, I think my personal favorite is:
Oh please, let it rain today
This city is so filthy, like my mind in ways
