What are the odds Pearl Jam would let us rewrite the lyrics to Future Days to incorporate this?wilkins wrote:Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Canada)

I dominated work today. Also dominated an intense power yoga session.
Most importantly, I have negated all of that by dominating 3 G & Ts and now just cracked a few local IPA's

I'm mildly surprised no one has retracked this album based on the doodles in the one reviewers notebook. Obviously this album should open with Pendulum.

i put one of the kids to bed and watched the new star trek movie. Given my last 6 weeks this is a huge accomplishment. I also ate some pistachios.

Pistachios are dangerous. I will go through a 10lb bag quicker than I'd turn of Future Days.
Fact.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Well, since I finally made my first post earlier in a failed attempt to get that new recording without just coming straight out and asking, allow me please to vent my frustration concerning the inclusion of SBM and the omission of Of the Earth. (I know its been beaten to death, but please humor me here)
From everything I've heard about this album it seams OTE would have fit in perfectly with both the theme and sound they're going for here, whereas SBM seams like it will stick out like a sore thumb, along with maybe Future Days.
Maybe OTE is destined to end up being Pearl Jam's Naked Eye, and when they played it live and included it on PJ20 it sealed the songs fate..... which I would understand and accept if SBM wasn't included instead.
Oh well, I typed all that and still didn't get my point out like I wanted, but I'm too tired to start over, heh. Sorry for the rant......I guess I should just be happy they gave us several SDB recordings of it to enjoy.

I'm expecting to quite like SBM, but otherwise I agree; would've been perfect on there. Should've used both.Arrogant Blue wrote:Well, since I finally made my first post earlier in a failed attempt to get that new recording without just coming straight out and asking, allow me please to vent my frustration concerning the inclusion of SBM and the omission of Of the Earth. I don't think the inclusion of SBM has anything to do with the exclusion of OTE. Pearl Jam just don't seem to like their studio versions of that song too much. I bet they didn't even try again this time.

I dont think it has to do with the band not liking it.
Vedder made comments about OTE on that SA interview he did on pjradio prior to one of their last shows. He was mumbling on about how it never felt right, blah blah blah...
But he also made a telling comment about how it could be there "naked eye". Never on an albu, but just be al ive thing, or a b side thing etc...
Ok, fine, but the fact that Ed has a fucking identity crisis and is obsessed with the Who, i feel as though he may really want it to be that and only that. No matter how good it may be, or how it may fit on an album he may think "aw, waves, surfing, and pete and uh uncle bruce, crashing waves and a stop sign, and uh, yielding to nature, and getting in the car, and stick shifting and pulling off on the road and hitting the wave, it could just be our naked eye just so i can be more like the who"
lame.
Get over it.
