Re: Election 2020
It's different because the problem with "dark money" is not knowing the motivations of people/corporations donating to a candidate. Like it or not, we know the motivation behind Bloomberg's donations to himself.4/5 wrote:Isn't Bloomberg just spending a small portion of his own enormous wealth? That's VERY different than Super PAC/dark money/shell corporation campaign funding.tragabigzanda wrote:Ok obviously there’s a massive grey area here with regard to campaign finance, dark money, etc... Re: Election 2020
I disagree in the sense the actions taken against rivals during the primary can leave voters with such a negative taste for the eventual winner they aren't motivated to get out and, vote or people who were on the fence about who to vote for (think they groups that went Obama to Trump) have the sway them. Not wanting to be associated with "a billionaire who bought the nomination" may help Trump in November.tragabigzanda wrote:Ok obviously there’s a massive grey area here with regard to campaign finance, dark money, etc... And obviously financing plays a huge part of the messaging. But placing one candidate’s loss at the feet of another strikes me as ignoring the core resources available to any candidate if the two major parties: public funding, public airwaves, social media, and above all, a strong message and grassroots energy.

Well, as of now everything except the bolded is looking really wrong.Green Habit wrote:This is how I feel like it's going to go, a feeling that will likely be proven horribly wrong:

--New Hampshire: Highly unlikely, but I could see this being a long shot do or die moment for Warren if she gets crushed in both Iowa and here, but I doubt she does.

Re: Election 2020
Does Warren's voice turn off anyone else? She always sounds so dramatic. I get anxious just hearing it.
I feel like that might have something to do with her decline.
