I'll probably break down over the weekend and try CBS All Access, but holy fuck what a rip off. Just looking at the list of shows; literally the only thing I'm interested in is Picard. The rest is complete and utter crap

I'm a complete TNG nerd, so here's a thing...

Sorry, haven't figured out spoiler code yet so

**SPOILER**

In "the measure of a man" guinan talks to picard about maddox creating an entire race of disposable people to do mankind's dirty work. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say he succeeded, the synths were to be sent to Romulus to aid in evacuation and then they revolted and blew up mars.

Still loving this.

The scene at the start of the episode with him and his compatriots discussing the situation in his home office would not have been written any different had it been a ready room sequence in TNG. Two characters supplying information to the captain, one of them playing skeptic and the other the thoughtful revealer of information, all centered on Picard’s questions and realizations.

There’s still a real potential for disappointment, but even the sub-Battlestar “secrets and relationships” cylon stuff is fine so far.

Also “I never cared for science fiction. I guess I just didn’t get it.”

It's been good so far. Spiner's bloated face with the intense Data makeup in the first ep threw me, even though I really appreciated having him back playing the character once more.

I was underwhelmed by the first episode. Picard's dialogue was a bit bizarre throughout. But, I'll def keep watching.

Still hopeful that this is a good show, but I have to say that his current team is perfect for the show I wish we were getting, which is an episodic tv show called Captain Picard, Space Detective.

Like, just him and this group he's got (the cynical pilot, the Velma, the hologram doctor, and the warrior)....tooling around, solving space mysteries. 14 episodes per season of Picard living his best life in retirement, Dixon Hilling from planet to planet in the 24th and a half century. Bring the dog.

The end of the most recent episode feels like we're finally getting somewhere.

I say this as a casual TNG fan. There's probably a lot more in those first episodes for a die hard. Personally, I'm not sure which pieces of the Star Trek: Picard mytharc I'm supposed to already know from TNG/films and what I'm supposed to infer from the writing in this series.

The Koat Milan reminded me of the Bene Gesserit from Dune. I keep hearing episode 4 is where the show goes off the rails but I think it was my favorite one. :?

I look forward to the episodes each week, but I still think it needs to improve and evolve.

This is my plan. I'm really looking forward to binging this.

Picard is one of the all time greatest TV characters.
