There's a groove here too, which has been sorely lacking in recent albums

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
first impresh: i like the arpeggiated riff in the style of surfy peter gunn/hitchhiker/sad. not sold on the rest.
we shall see where the rest of it goes!

Yikes. Was hoping for heavier with a song title like this. Riff is pretty generic. Vox are good. Hope this is the breakdown. Other than that...not super impressed so far.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
This to me is if Hitchhiker wasn't a Lost Dog and got tweaked and fiddled with until it felt right for the album. Always loved the guitar melody on the song but didn't love the vocal part. This is them getting it right
..well..for fifteen seconds.
100% not what I was expecting though. And that makes it a 2 for 2 on surprises this album and I fucking love it. Hopefully the rest of the song slides along that path.

I'm not going to listen to this. But, if true, any resemblance to Hitchhiker is good in my book.

This clip is...alright. It sounds kind of..spritzy. Hopefully it's only from a certain part of the song and there's much more to it.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
there's a bit in the guitar riff with a duh-da-da, da, da, da... that gives it some rhythm, and I'm disappointed that Matt doesn't follow that with accents, he just plays it straightStrat wrote:There's a groove here too, which has been sorely lacking in recent albums

echoing the lost dogs sentiments. I love this kind of Pearl Jam. Hitchhiker of course, happy when I’m crying. If they play that groove for four minutes I’d be happy. It’s a single though so I’d imagine they’ll be more to it.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
funny you say that it was sorely lacking on previous albums when this riff is HIGHLY reminiscent to me of The getaway. And Mind Your Manners had groove. As did My Fathers Son. I like all of those songs, but this sounds like it's in that vein.Strat wrote:There's a groove here too, which has been sorely lacking in recent albums
