If either Ed's layered shouts or Mike's solo weren't there, I'd be having a much easier time, I think.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
think we'll look back on the loosey goosey feel of the la da da as the best part of the song too.

I'm cool with y'all liking whatever you like except for Johnny Guitar...that is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. I simply refuse to believe anyone intentionally listens to that song. It's a trainwreck.

This going into Dance makes me really unsure of what to expect from this record. Which, in the end, is a good thing.

There's no way Future Days is better than Johnny Guitar.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
Johnny Guitar probably ranks dead last in PJ’s catalog. Dead last.

I’m stoked for Gigaton, it feels like it could go anywhere. That’s an incredibly fun and renewed spirit I haven’t felt about PJ in about 15 years. This is fun again.PHATJ wrote:After my second listen....PHATJ wrote:I’ve listened once. I’m a bit befuddled, but the last minute or two had me fucking grooving. This is a confusing song, and my gut says that’s actually a very good sign for Gigaton. I don’t want to hear PJ do something they’ve done before. We’ve had that forever. This sounds different. It’s kinda dirty. I love some of the guitar tones in the riff. I’m really uncertain how I will feel about this song in another month or two. Hell, I’m interested to know what it will sound like on second listen. Here goes...
Guys, this song is fucking awesome. I’m totally into it.
Have fun hating

I liked Johnny Guitar. It's a decent quirky song. It's a 6/10 on my PJ scale. But it wasn't a single. If it was a single I may have hated it.

What’s the record for consecutive self-quotes in a quote pyramid?

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
my worst case scenario for this was some bland ass reconstruction of everything they've done before a la supersonic. instead we got this demonic pastiche of things they haven't quite done before. i'll take it - especially that last minute and a half. don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
