I tend to like this quick-fire wordiness in a lot of songs (I'm still an Alanis fan); my problem hasn't been delivery as much as embarrassing lyrics that this approach was covering up ("supersonic gonna took my soul / I caught a rabbit but the clock was slow yeah", or whatever that is); I'm not cringing through these lyrics so the delivery is fine, and (I think) delivered with more passion and humour than on BS or LB

I think there is more space in the vocal on DOTC, so I'm sure there will be more of that on the album

that might be the big difference. just about every song on my list above has shit lyrics. this seems pretty smartly written

I was pretty sure on 1 listen on phone speakers when i should have been asleep, that i liked it. About 6 times through in my car i still feel like its getting better every time through. I actually like the vocal delivery a lot, i feel like thats the main part getting stuck in my head. Of course i love 99% of PJ songs so its not unexpected that i would like this, i was one of the very few that can enjoy CDM, and think Evacuation if very good fun is not what i hope for in the lead up to new PJ but im not upset that this one is fun

With headphones it actually provided a lot more space (pun intended) and the vocals sound more genuine (my main issue with Can'tDeny Me). The lyrics are fine. Solid "3" for me.

The Mike solo is at least different, I wonder if they just plan on improvising at that point live and that's why it cuts so definitively.

I'm very curious with the noises/scene at the end... if we hear someone get in a car and tune the radio dial I'm going to mail Josh Homme dirty diaper.

i like his performance here. I think this is one if the more successful version of this song they’ve done yet (and there have been attempts. Ole, Supersonic, leatherman, hitchhiker come to mind. If you extend the ven diagram out to include your all nights, black red yellows, johnny guitars, and get rights it is a little less successful). I just wish they’d stop trying to perfect this type. It puts a ceiling on how good it could be.

he does, I like the melody and the colour and the variety of intonation; Ed is enjoying himself, imo, not awkwardly inserting himself into a song he doesn't belong in
