Yup I would say My Morning Jacket
The Tennessee Fire is god tier
Evil Urges is excellent
The Waterfall is excellent

Circuital is a little shaky on the excellent scale for me, but hmmm
Circuital is top notch for me. I mean the run of At Dawn, It Still Moves and Z is them at their peak, but Circuital successfully combined that phase with the more danceable and risk taking Evil Urges. Victory Dance —> Circuital is great work. First Light and The Day is Coming to me are both essential MMJ. Then there’s Holding On to Black Metal, which I can’t explain why but is awesome on so many levels. Slow Slow Tune took a while to grow on me but it did. Same with Wonderful (the Way I Feel). To my ears, it’s an excellent album.

Does the degree to which I feel Circuital is their weakest album preclude it from being excellent? Because you're not wrong... could definitely be an excellent album.

wtf is a Talkdemonic reference doing on RM?!
Hah Just doing my part to continue the rich tradition of introducing new obscure music to RM. I wouldn't have found Wintersleep(Juno winners as they are) without RM over a decade ago, now that I think about it.

I wish I could have seen Talkdemonic live.

No. They are all excellent in my mind. I think you are right that it’s a matter of degree.

I think you rate The Tennessee Fire higher than I do but I still think it is excellent and return to it frequently

I didn't expect to see Mandolin Orange mentioned in here. Good call, though.

As far as MMJ, they are one of my favorite bands, but Circuital and the Waterfall are both pretty average.

I don't think I've seen them mentioned, so I'll submit Dire Straits and Roxy Music. They both have the advantage of limited studio output, and 8 albums respectively and having very unique styles.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

*Herein lies the double-edged sword of modern music consumption. Had I made the 30-minute trek from my parents' house to Newbury Comics on Rt 114, and plunked down $14 for this CD, I'd give it a ton of spins before weighing an opinion. But because I just downloaded it from my streaming service, it gets approximately 20 minutes to make an impact otherwise I'm out.
Listening to this right now, it's great. Not even remotely what I pictured it sounding like. I was thinking like a souped up Semisonic or something.
This makes me so happy

You unknowingly got me into Silkworm. I think it was a thread about favorite albums from the year 2000, or in the 2000's, I'm not sure. You posted Lifestyle. I started with that, then Libertine, Firewater, Developer, Blueblood, Italian Platinum, and It'll Be Cool. I'm still digesting their catalog, and it's been several years. There's still a lot I'm not real familiar with, but I've yet to run into an album that's not excellent. Thank you, this band is amazing.
