This is a damn good song. Not betting tired if of it at all. Even though I’m gonna forever Associate it with this shitty time and walking up and down that village and beach.

Is this more about big versus small p political? When the band started it was a Clinton government and I don't recall them being party political at that stage - perhaps they were or possibly they didn't feel strongly against Clinton. Ten and Vs are issues-based albums politically whereas in the noughties they were much more party-based in interviews and activity both in the Nader phase and the strong anti-Bush phase - song-wise they went away from issues songs with Rival and Grievance possibly the main ones and then on Riot Act only a song called Bushleager. Avocado featured more political type songs - unemployable, WWS etc which was possibly the strongest phase along with anti-war songs by Ed. Last two albums were pretty politically bland or less direct - Infallible.

Point being that I think the band was always political but did become more overtly party political post-Clinton. I guess it's how I felt watching Let's Play Two and the whole baseball thing - as a non-American that was bizarre, unrelatable and hard to process.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

I’ve never watched it for precisely this reason.

When the band started it was a post-Reagan Bush government.

Liking this song more than ever lately after its placement post-SBWM

I get the sense the intro to this album will be a fast pace and then by DOTC it provides a clean break / clarity moment

also been hearing this lately but not sure this can be a lyric meant to be taken literally:
I’m in love with clairvoyants
cause they’re racially pure
