Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
I really just hate the opening basic riff, the breathy wordiness and the stupid bridge ( she was a stunner!)
I personally enjoy Mind Your Manners WAY more than this. MYM was a solid track and single. SBWM is on the level of b sides like U and Hitchhiker. If those were lead singles they would be hated too.

"U" and "Hitchhiker" are both infinitely better songs than MYM

who you are>hail hailStrat wrote:Makes sense to me why they released it. I envision the reason behind it is that DOTC was such a surprise and unique track for them, that SBWF had to be released so help cleanse that uniqueness and give the jamily what they recognize most of pearl jam.VinylGuy wrote:I really liked Stip´words on this one. I think the main reason why its a mild turn off for me its because im not sure why thie song deserves attention as a single.
I totally get the choice of the first single, but this one is, at best, a cool rocker that you dont skip in the context of an album...so, its weird to release it a single.
Having said that, its miles better than previous attempts...and the production is so fucking good. The guitars actually sound like guitars, and i love Edñs voice in that ¨superblood wolfmoon¨ chorus.
even nothing as it seems followed by light years seems like a similar intention, just less rock and more like wishlist/last kiss.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
yes - there are turns throughout each that bring you to new, welcome territory. DOTC just does it with much more sophistication.Strat wrote:Like DOTC, there is something to look forward to throughout the song.

ew man! no way.Ms Harmless wrote:"U" and "Hitchhiker" are both infinitely better songs than MYM
Also I'm relistening and I think what really sets me off in this song is the lyric "IN THE DEESTANCE" Holy fuck it annoys me off the bat. The rest of the song is growing on me a tiny bit, perhaps to a 2.5.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
I still think what stip calls the verse is the chorus especially since it’s what ends the song

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
Just gave it another listen.
It's still a mess.
I think if they'd stripped it down to the way it sounds beginning with the 2:50 mark, it would have improved the song a lot sonically.
But no, they are Pearl Jam, they had to throw everything into the bowl and then toss it in our faces.

I like the song, but I'm still wrestling with how "good" vs. "accidentally effective" I think this facet of it is.Strat wrote:Like DOTC, there is something to look forward to throughout the song. This song seems to take so many turns that it keeps my attention throughout.
