my god i just watched half this video on youtube and on the upcoming next playlist to the right is black from mtv unplugged and i had to shut it down... so so lame especially by comparison to where they started

You hate it so much, why do you keep doing it to yourself? You are legit insane.

I dunno... I'm interested in these guys because I know them so well.. They're part of me.. I grew up admiring them so much I need to see them and where they are. Not everything has to be about pleasure in life I guess, you know? And again, "hatred" is the wrong word. More like disappointed, confused... I feel compassion for them. I want them to succeed.

I wish they repeated the "faaaaast" bit at the end once or thrice, maybe playing it quieter each time; that would be Yield weird

I just don't think they've got much of an impulse to add that weirdness to these bare bones songs anymore

I like the style of the video but it’s a bit jarring how different the tone of the lyrics are compared to the music/video. It feels like there should be a sarcasm here but it is not coming across to me at all. I was also hoping the animation would have added to the song, which it does not.

Like DOTC, there is something to look forward to throughout the song. This song seems to take so many turns that it keeps my attention throughout.

I like the song, but I'm still wrestling with how "good" vs. "accidentally effective" I think this facet of it is.

how many facets of PJ have been accidentally effective, just enjoy

Oh I'm not stressing over it, just passively wondering this alongside enjoying it. "Wrestling" wasn't really the right word.

In fairness, it doesn't aim to, but I'm (also in fairness, I think) getting bored of songs that don't aim to. That said, I found myself enjoying this song a fair bit more today than I did a couple nights ago -- in a low-stakes, I'm-not-listening-too-closely-to-this sort of way, but still -- that's certainly an acceptable realm for a song to exist within. But I'm still hoping there aren't many others like it.
