i was confused and let down when it came out..with time, i really appreciate it. The solo is nuts, and Ben is fucking good on it.arthurdent wrote:I don't care what anyone else thinks, but Live to Rise was badass

at the time it felt like an Audioslave song. But man that solo is tasty...and with time i liked it more and more.tragabigzanda wrote:The main riff is great, and then the verses feel like a Chris solo joint. The chorus is fine for a SG ballad. It's very schizophrenic.VinylGuy wrote:i was confused and let down when it came out..with time, i really appreciate it. Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
Listening to this Guitar Heaven / Santana album and the very first song is Chris on Whole Lotta Love. Did not know he was on the album (no really, I got it because I was searching "Scott Weiland" on Soulseek, didn't know about Chris) and when he started singing I was taken aback for a moment. Such a voice, and the perfect song for him to cover.

Agreed. Hated it when it came out - "following up "Black Rain" with that!?". Now, it's one of my favourite songs. The definition of a grower, I guess.VinylGuy wrote:i was confused and let down when it came out..with time, i really appreciate it. But the problem with waiting is that nobody is getting any younger. What happens if one of them gets sick, or worse, in the meantime?liebzz wrote:It’s gonna happen, man. I haven't been able to determine as yet if the band have actually finished recording their parts, or require Chris' stem tracks in order to progress the album, y'know? They may just need Chris' parts to just "drop in" over their own work to finish it. From what I can understand they have a "mix down" of Chris' parts so, in theory, they could have worked their parts around those tapes and have finished recording their parts, but now need Chris' stem tracks to drop in over their work and they're done? If that's the case, then even if something happens one of the band in the near future, their parts are already done.

From what I believe the only multitracks from those sessions were in his possession. They need it to not only have his stem tracks but also all the other recorded parts. They probably still need to dub some guitars on those multitracks.fyfe79 wrote:But the problem with waiting is that nobody is getting any younger.
