How did 20 y/o you feel about the chorus to Light Years? Not exactly the same, I realize, but if you squint for a second and didn't hate that chorus, maybe you were wiser then than you think.

I must have heard this 20 times by now. The early snippet is still stuck in my head. I watched the video and got rather bored very quickly. This song is not a good song but the frills, the production, the energy carries it.

My main problem is Ed and the scatter cluster fuck of ideas/melodies. It still sound like a vocal demo to me. The music is fine for what it is but not terribly memorable or dare I say impressive. There are plenty of songs that musically do this much better.

I’ll now bow out of this thread so any negativity doesn’t bring you guys down.

The incredible solo section and the way it all just drops out into that best part of the song. You think that maybe the song is going to explode a little bit more after mccresdy is let out of his cage but the energy is quickly zapped and it returns to this tight groove. I love it.

my point re: negativity was pretty specific - it was the same 4 or 5 guys who kept saying the same exact thing page in and page out. hate or love the song all you want just have something halfway different/interesting to say (if you're going to comment at that kind of clip ffs get your posting skills sharp).
