my only regret is arbor. The rest of those words were solid. And I don't really like byzantine as a word.

Isn't the chord on 'baby' a minor, rather than the predictable happy chord it could've been. And isn't that same chord repeated on 'And I know...'? I'm just using the ear, it might be major despite the fact it doesn't sound happy. But that chord could've easily been replaced with a happy chord and they chose not to.

Future Days has a quality to it that brings the Eagles reunion tour to mind. More than that, it is exactly the kind of craft-without-impact filler that tends to come from an older artist who decides to write a song but feels no inherent drive. It is the epitome of safe and forgetful. It doesn't have enough personality to offend. It's like an homage to Paul McCartneys most tired solo efforts.

I'm not going to disagree with that, but I'll reserve the right to if the studio version changes my opinion of the song.

I might be able to get behind this criticism, to be fair. It has more substance. But still, I don't know whether I'll feel like this when I've heard the album version on the album, and if I do, it definitely won't be the first time I've felt that way about a PJ song... by a long shot. The first thought I had after my first listen to Binaural was 'Man, they're getting old.' I felt embarrassed for my favourite band. But yet, it was a subjective feeling because obviously a lot of you didn't.
