Isn't the chord on 'baby' a minor, rather than the predictable happy chord it could've been. And isn't that same chord repeated on 'And I know...'? I'm just using the ear, it might be major despite the fact it doesn't sound happy. But that chord could've easily been replaced with a happy chord and they chose not to.

I think the entire verse is just E and C. Maybe it sounds like a minor with Mike's slide accents, but I'd have to listen again to check.

I do. Love it. Loved since they debuted it at Bridge School before Binaural was released. My opinion has not changed since.

You're right, the bass plays three notes over the two chords. But isn't the second chord a minor? If it isn't, it doesn't really matter; I still think it lends a dour feeling to the song to reduce its happy cheesiness. The chord sounds a little depressed.

i like skipping a LOT more than future days. It's a really nice song and Eddie sounds great on it--especially that bittersweet vocalizations at the end when he realizes that this isn't going to last forever and his little girl is going to grow up.

that song caught some shit when it was released but it's really quite good.
