I wonder if we beefed up the o-line to make up for his lack of mobility, if he could be a good franchise QB. I'd think that if we can't get Tua, he might be the best option for now. Still love Fitzpatrick for the time being, then when/if he fails throw in the young guy.

Rosen can't process fast enough...it's how he got Hurns killed against Dallas and by all rights should have gotten Preston Williams killed against Washington

I'd forgotten what it's like to not be in salary cap hell. I reflexively bristled when they gave Byron Jones that huge deal. But yeah, this defense might get better in a hurry. Hopefully they hit on some of these draft picks, but I continue to like the overall strategy behind what they're doing the last year or so.

I said if they took Tua I'd be happy no matter what. I haven't heard of most of the other guys they took so it is it what is. I like the focus on both lines, but it sucked having Lamb and Dobbins taken one pick ahead of Miami and I would have preferred trading up to get one of top 4 OTs. But I'm thrilled they took Tua, I know it's a risk but I think it's well worth it.

Yeah pretty much everyone is forecasting starting Fitzmagic but playing Tua sometime in the season. Tua is 100% healthy. I guess it depends on how well Fitz plays. History indicates he will have a down year.

"I've had the privilege of being a part of many different circles that have included some very powerful and influential people of all different races and genders. The events of the last few weeks have brought some of the memories of those conversations back to light. I vividly remember the Colin Kaepernick conversations. 'Don't ever disrespect the flag' was the phrase that I heard over and over again. This idea that players were kneeling in support of social justice was something some people couldn't wrap their head around. The outrage that I saw in the media and the anger I felt in some of my own private conversations caused me to sever a few long-standing friendships.

Most recently, I've had conversations about incentivizing teams for hiring minorities. Again, there was some outrage in the media and talks that this would cause division amongst coaches, executives and ownership. I bring these situations up because I haven't seen the same OUTRAGE from people of influence when the conversation turns to Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and most recently George Floyd. Many people who broadcast their opinions on kneeling or on the hiring of minorities don't seem to have an opinion on the recent murders of these young black men and women. I think many of them QUIETLY say that watching George Floyd plead for help is one of the more horrible things they have seen, but it's said amongst themselves where no one can hear. Broadcasting THAT opinion clearly is not important enough.

I lead a group of young men who have the potential to make a real impact in this world. My message to them and anyone else who wants to listen is that honesty, transparency, and empathy go a long way in bringing people together and making change. I hope that the tragedies of the last few weeks will open our hearts and minds to a better way of communicating and hopefully create that change."

Really weird game. Loved the pass rush, Goff looked totally lost all day. The Rams were lucky there weren't several more turnovers/defensive scores. Tua didn't look good at all, though. The argument will be that they had a big lead so they played super conservatively on offense which is probably true, but I hope he looks a lot better next week.

He looked OK to me playing his first pro game against one of the scariest defenses in the NFL. Nice deep comeback throw to Grant then accurate TD pass to Parker to tie it at 7 in the first quarter. We would have seen more of this type of play but he didn't have to do anything the rest of the game but hand it off, run out the clock and convert 3rd downs once in a while. Two 3rd down conversions were dropped by Gaskins and Williams who both didn't play well at all.

Preston Williams did drop two balls on one series, you're right. There was almost a nice pass to Gesecki just slightly underthrown. Besides his first dropback with the strip sack he didn't look awful, just never really looked good either. Probably tough to ever really get into a rhythm and every pass was super safe. Coming into this game they claimed the offense wasn't going to change but that was clearly not true, so maybe they should have done a better job tempering expectations.

I am already tired of the play action boot left, throw short play. Idk if it's intentional but every time they run it they're letting somebody on the left edge come free so Tua's rollout is extremely deep which seems to destroy the play timing.

The plan was to get Tua outside the pocket and away from the pass rush as often as possible, I suppose. The Rams planned for that and saw it coming. Tua looks the most comfortable out there on the move so hopefully they can successfully block for him on those plays in the future, or get the run game going so the defense will bite on the play action. Also there are other deeper options on those plays but he never really had an opportunity to hit them yet.

I don't think that deep pass to Gesicki was underthrown. Could have easily been a catch if Gesicki used his height and high pointed it.

I am looking forward to seeing what he can do against lesser defenses. He definitely throws a pretty ball when he has a guy open and time to throw, e.g. the deep comeback to Grant.

Another thing he did well was not make stupid mistakes and throw INTs. This is already an improvement over Fitzpatrick, who probably would have had at least 2 more turnovers against the Rams with his go all out running the ball and gun slinging. I'm sure Flores cringed every time Fitzy got careless with the ball.
