Almost like someone literally tripped over the drums while holding a plugged in guitar. Maybe it's just the crappy video quality?
I agree. I feel like I'd prefer that ambient intro to build into something, not awkwardly switch gears into a rocker.

Maybe it'll work better once we can hear the whole thing in context.

I like the snippet - very Floyd like intro
As for where the band kicks in...too short of a clip to even form an opinion.
It's like a kick of a drum and a distorted bass note...not much to go by here

Everyone that heard the album who went to that Tequila shindig in Hollywood said it was a standout track

So...I'm holding out hope that this will be good.

I can't hear a drum in that clip, just a hi hat; and that must be a bass note but sounds a lot like a low piano note to me, weird

still, I'm intrigued not worried

Song #1 on PJ albums have always been pretty good

Not recently, and I'm not crazy about Breakerfall either.

But I remain very interested to hear this whole record, if not quite at the initial level of fevered optimism I had after Dance of the Clairvoyants (probably for the best).

I really like what I'm seeing of how this album is tracked

two "rockers" to start (with WES having the most energy, I'm assuming) and then DOTC taking the pace down a little but not stopping it dead, like, say, "Parachutes" did (a good song that I was convinced was terrible for a long time because of its momentum-killing placement); and then it sounds like we have a mix of standard rockers, weird "abstract" songs, and what sounds like mid-tempo Floyd-esque things; it doesn't look like there are any pure ballads until the final two songs, if I'm reading the descriptions right

I like that song a lot, even if they haven't played a good version in years.

I rarely listen to live stuff so I base most of views on studio performances.

I wouldn't get our hopes up too much for that ambient opening. I mean, it's only like 20 seconds and then it's gone. Cool for what it is.

I'm excited that that song is 5+ minutes long; does that ambience come back somewhere? is it included over any of the guitar parts? I miss PJ having real dynamics instead of just balls-to-the-wall one-dimensional speed

Question: At what time in the album (if at all) will you open up RM, upon first listen of The Giga?

i highly doubt it comes back in that song. it's been described as a rocker of sorts.
