Both new songs present wonderful opportunity for the entire band to step up to their respective mics and fill out the sound in the vocal arrangements. I really hope they do this.
Been hoping for years for the band to explore harmonizing a little bit more.
Stone and Matt have great voices....Jeff too
So it would be cool to hear them experiment with some 3 even 4 part harmonies.

I think it would really add to both the live show and the records as Eddie's voice isn't as stand alone powerful as it once was.

3 stars for now. I'm not sure I can elaborate my thoughts any better then what's been said on the previous 100 pages. I like it. I like the way it sounds. There are a lot of words. Whoever said that based on the clip we got they were hoping for a more mature Riot Act vibe, same here. I was thinking based on the clip it would be spacey / trippy, but well, you know, we got spritz. Still though, after a few listens I think I like it better than most things on the previous two albums.

I can't get over how much this one grew on me over the past week.

I was waiting for the midnight drop with my headphones on and a fat J in my hand and it felt like Pearl Jam had died right in front of me. Now I can't stop playing the fucking thing on repeat.

Gotta be honest though, I'm really going to be surprised if Ed can do this justice live, especially while playing guitar. The "chorus" is definitely wordy, and some of the phrases feel like real tongue twisters.

The intro doesn't even bother me anymore, cause I know what's coming.

i don't see him playing guitar on it live. maybe he'll play the intro.. maybe the bit coming out of the solo.

if he's got a guitar at all, i'm assuming it will be slung around his back for most of it

I think it's been said before but the intro is likely low key as a palate cleanser after Who Ever Said. People often forget that choices like this are often based on sequencing. Same goes for fade-outs, it's usually all about what the producer thinks will be the best lead-in to the next song

I have expected this from first listen. The intro doesn’t bother me at all.
