Someone's brother's sister's uncle's neighbour's mistress' husband knows someone at Universal on the East Coast and it's the 2nd single, as per The Pit. But seriously, dude knows someone there apparently and it's been bandied about now for some time.B wrote:Why does everyone think they're releasing Sirens?

yeah it's just a rumor, B. A plausible one, I suppose (they're gonna release something and sirens seems like a good choice based on what we know) but nothing to actually report.

So I just heard Sirens and I have to say it was loud! And those who have heard it were right about one thing it whales! I have to admit though i was hoping for more substance and a little longer running time. As fast as it came it was over....Had to be at least 3 fire trucks and a couple of ambulances that went past me. Damn those sirens were loud.

I really like the production. There's some sort of doppler effect going on that sounds really cool.Walker Bait wrote:So I just heard Sirens and I have to say it was loud! This just in: for those who were hoping that every song tied into the religious theme, you're in luck. 'Sirens' is in fact a typo. The song is called 'Simon of Cyrene'.

This allegedly has a download link in the 'About' details. Probably fake and virus ridden. I'm in the 'No Leak Club' and on my work PC, so I'm not able to even test it to confirm if it's legit. Tread carefully if you want to try it.
Edit: the whole mp3face website looks pretty spammy.

Apparently the song exceeds 5 minutes, so I'm almost positive this is fake. There are others like it for other songs, and one for the whole album.Sgt. I once thought I was downloading some album (I can't remember what it was) but instead of that, got an album by some obscure Belgian black metal band, and a shedload of viruses.Sgt. Continually mystified as to how anyone manages to get a virus from downloading music.
I mean, that YouTube clip for example: who in their right mind would entertain the idea of clicking that link for even a moment? Trust me, when this leaks, that won't be how.

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Easy answer: people don't have any idea how to do it, they're hungry for new music, something says 'NEW MUSIC' and they click it. I won't do it again, having done it so many times, but I still have no idea how to download stuff very safely so I usually get someone else to send me a safe link.

I have yet to read what comes after this (5 pages to go) and I probably won't read it all, but I just want to be on the record as saying this is the best post made here in days and echoes much of what I feel. So good I'm going to give it astip wrote:it's this incredibly complex mixture of a band moving into new (and often older) themes, declining productivity, a somewhat different sound and perhaps even a different approach to song writing and having this collide with some people not liking the music as much but not wanting to let go of the band and so you get this combo of battered girlfriend standing by her man/need to denigrate the band to diminish internal expectations (pearl jam are generic/they suck live)/finding someone to blame (ed, BoB, Mike, matt, oddly enough not stone or jeff) with the implication that if they just got out of the way everything goes back to normal/people feeling the need to talk extensively about a band they just don't care that much about anymore because they like posting on RM/trolling because it's the internet and it's not okay to enjoy things.

This song will in no way justify my excitement about it, but I can't make myself less excited.
