Former Vice President Joe Biden has an 18-point lead over his Democratic presidential primary opponents in South Carolina, according to a poll released Wednesday.
Biden has 35 percent support in the Clemson University poll released just days ahead of Saturday’s South Carolina primary.
Businessman Tom Steyer, who has focused much of his campaign on South Carolina, pulled in a distant second at 17 percent support in the poll.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), the leading candidate in the race after three nominating contests, trails Steyer in the poll by 4 points at 13 percent support.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg each register at 8 percent support, with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) lagging behind at 4 percent.

Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is last with 2 percent support in South Carolina.
Biden said Tuesday on the debate stage that he expects to win in South Carolina, the first state on the primary calendar to have a significant African American population, following disappointing finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire. He came in a distant second behind Sanders in last weekend's Nevada caucuses.
The survey is based on 650 respondents, through a mixed methodology of telephone response, online and online panel voters. It was conducted between Feb. 17 and 25. There is a margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.
The results of the survey were not weighted for age, sex or ethnicity, pollsters said. Three percent of respondents were under 25, 14 percent were under 40, 20 percent were under 54, 21 percent were under 64, and 43 percent were 65 or older.

If primary polling is somewhat accurate for Super Tuesday, then I really want to thank Mr. Bloomberg. He may not want to spend money to help Bernie, but it seems that's effectively what he's already done.

this is so confusingMcParadigm wrote:Flaming Hot Cheetos
can you explain this to me?
there are 3 levels of things i don’t understand here:
1) Why Warren is a revolutionary on nearly every front except when it comes to denying majority voting by the people, apparently
2) Is this Dunning Kruger reference meant to insult Warren, or is it ironic and insulting the guy, or something else?
3) What is the flaming hot cheetos comment supposed to mean?
4) *Bonus Question* Who is better in the sack, Dunning or Kruger?

Interviews with dozens of Democratic Party officials, including 93 superdelegates, found overwhelming opposition to handing Mr. Sanders the nomination if he fell short of a majority of delegates.

Re: Election 2020
I don’t understand why people don’t just force these politicians to go on record and say whether they’d rather have President Trump or President Bernie. Because this isn’t about electability. They don’t want Bernie as their standard bearer. I get it, but interviews with these people should end with “is Trump the threat you’ve been telling us he is? Yes or no.”96583UP wrote:hooray democracy-named-after-party

Re: Election 2020
It’s two different parties. It’s been that way for a long time. And the leading, moderate faction is used to being able to say “look, we are the majority, so we are the necessity that wins elections. Stick with us, and you’ll get more of your desires than if you don’t.” Now, the party has changed enough that they aren’t the clear majority team anymore, and they aren’t willing to make the compromises they required of others for so long.
It’s a lot of change happening under their feet right at the time when they both feel the greatest urgency to win and also suspect that a win could do a lot more for them than usual. They’re handling the resulting confusion badly.
