I put "drown in the river" right with it. Love both!

Also fantastic.

I maintain this is a meta-lyric that is meant to deliver both the obvious metaphor, as well as a nod to the Talking Heads' hit "Take Me To The River."
i think there's already an obvious theme on the album re: rivers, climate change, etc. it could be, but 'take me to the river' is an al green song. if they want to give a nod to the talking heads, they should cover them.

This is the first pearl jam song my 8 year old has liked.

She doesn’t know what a Clairvoyant is so instead “hey dad can you put on Dance Of The Chickens”

DOTC came on and My son (9yrs) said this is the best Pearl Jam song he's heard in years :)

was just thinking they may have to employ some backup singers for this song. gonna be really tough for the band to do the swirling final minute without it sounding comical. so they need to go all the way talking heads with it:

Did I hear or read somewhere that Josh Klinghoffer is going to do a few songs with PJ while he's on tour with them?

yeah good call. he was a backing keys player for gnarls barkley (i think) so he could certainly help on DOTC.

I'm sure somebody here has already said it, but it just occurred to me that the song in the PJ catalogue that this shares the most in common with is WMA.

I wish this song wouldn’t end. Especially the last third. I want it to just keep going
