Re: Songs That Haven't Aged So Well
i've always like glorified g; it's a fun number.
a few pages back i said leash, and i see others feel similar. yeah, if we could only pick one song that hasn't aged well, i think i'd still go with leash. i remember thinking way back in 1993 that the "we are young" part isn't going to age well. it sounded dated to me from the moment i heard it. i've never really cared for the song and i'd been fine if the shelve it permanently.

Glorified G is fun, it's great live, and the message is still completely relevant.

Black, Porch, and Immortality have probably aged the worst for me of any “glory era” PJ songs

Agreed on all, especially Immortality which I’m in no hurry to hear again.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Black, Porch, and Immortality have probably aged the worst for me of any “glory era” PJ songs

Re: Songs That Haven't Aged So Well
Release- Esoteric
Leash- I'm not an angry out of control youth
Indifference- I'm not a pussy
In Hiding- I'm not a recluse.
I love Mike's guitar near and at the end of Leash though and the main riff is pretty good. I really like the guitar outro on In Hiding. Musically, In Hiding is pretty good and I think I can still salvage and play it.
Worthy of mention:
Black- The goal after a breakup should be to try to remain positive and persevere? Who else would want to listen to this song other than someone not wanting to persevere after a breakup? Excluding a concert experience, of course.
Alive- I guess one needs to be a little insane to be a PJ fan. I get the whole trilogy and all but I kinda wish the following verses could be exchanged for an easier listen:
"The fictional element of the song sees the mother then have an incestuous relationship with the son, who resembles his biological father."

I pledge to be 100% boring and never troll-out again. I will make my interactions here pleasant, like sitting through an agricultural economics class.

black very quickly went from a "i can't miss this song" live to "i should probably try to piss now because i have a 45-minute drive ahead of me." it was somewhere between the binaural and riot act tours.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Black, Porch, and Immortality have probably aged the worst for me of any “glory era” PJ songs

I’d rather put Leash on than Even Flow, by like a thousand miles.
I guess Even Flow is my first and firmest answer.

Once & Why Go seem trapped in the 90's
No real drive to hear either of these songs again
