you're looking at this way too myopically. a lot of young people didn't turn out in droves to vote for hillary because they, like a lot of people, took it for granted that she would get elected because there was no way someone like trump was going to actually get elected, let alone someone like trump who was trailing in the polls 3-5% up until election day. it's a different political landscape today. and if you guys think that a 78-year-old career candidate from the northeast pushing his "democratic-socialist" policies is the only salvation for the democrats against trump and who is going to capture the hearts of all of the on-the-fence white suburbanite women, then i don't know what to tell you.

What?

I get that Bernie isn't their preference, but Trump is most certainly not going to capture their hearts. The evidence points in the other direction (see 2018).

Biden is FINE, people. He's fine. America would be fine if we had a four-year Biden caretaker Presidency
Please consider voting for me

The path to victory for Bernie has never been about winning over dumbass centrists - it’s been about mobilizing the HUGE portion of citizens who historically don’t vote.

If you witnessed the 2016 election and STILL think electability is about ineffectual centrism, I don’t know what to tell you.

Trump is basically the same thing Biden as far as I’m concerned. But at least Trump’s speeches are more enjoyable.

The “can’t find an important difference between Joe Biden and Donald Trump” demographic is fortunately every bit as small as it is unwinnable.

Also, though, Joe Biden really is a tragically stupid choice for the party to make.

I'm all in on Bernie and I am also anti Biden but this stance ("I'd rather have Trump") seems foolish and shortsighted to me, particularly when I think about what another Trump term could mean for immigration and the Supreme Court

That’s fair, I totally get it. I’m not sure I even really mean it. I just hate the democratic establishment way more passionately than republicans these days, and the thought of voting for one of them makes me want to vomit.

Are presidential candidates always this old? Biden is 77, he'll be into his 80s by the time he finishes his first term. That's too old.

Judges of the High Court (Australia's highest court) face mandatory retirement at 70, I can't see how any candidate older than that can truly be at their best mentally. Biden's already been an example of that while campaigning, let alone being in office.

Our supreme Court justices can stay in office until they die if they choose to.

I'm with you there. They act ashamed but deep down they love their strong man Donald. And anyone who would vote for Biden but not Sanders over Trump is a fucking asshole.
