I don't mind guns n roses but November rain sucks giant sweaty balls. Please let sirens not sound like November rain.

I always thought that some songs would sound a hell of a lot cheesier if Ed wasn't singing them. Hopefully, even if Sirens is a big schlock ballad, Ed will save it.

What do people think of black? I mean its basically a power ballad. But I think they need to get more power ballady than that. But people wouldn't be describing it as power ballady or kinda cheesy if it was like black.

I guess FoN is kinda power ballady too? Bleurgh.

Edit: Shit I meant they don't*** as a band need to get more power ballady than black.

if you never heard black before, and only heard it once in ac crowded room, and had to describe it to someone else, what phrase would you use?

Interesting question, I will have to ponder.

I'm worried about this being Inside Job more than FoN. Before Inside Job came out, people were saying it was 'like Black', a totally epic rock ballad, Mike is God. Etc. etc. We also had comparisons with Pink Floyd, to top it all off. So far, this is history repeating, so either he's got everything right this time, or it's the same again. But I agree with you; Black is totally a power ballad. But it has melancholy to counteract the cheese. Inside Job doesn't really.

I'm not sure if I want to listen to that interview, but I would like to know what time it is. As long as it's posted here I suppose it doesn't matter.

Guys, if they're releasing Sirens tomorrow, and KurLeon was talking about possibly getting a clip of it today, does that mean the 10C are planning to tweet a clip tonight?

It's one of the many possibilities. Read my post above; I'd rather it be NAIS revisited than Inside Job revisited.

FoN was hardly a power ballad. It's just a great rock song (for me).

Inside Job was good musically and if the lyrics were better, it could have been a classic. I don't mind Ed's delivery on it either. Black is a classic because everything goes together so well; the music (which is fantastic), the melancholy lyrics and of course Ed's delivery.

If Sirens has music reminiscent of 80s power ballads, I really don't mind as long as it is good and Ed's lyrics paint a vivid enough picture. I have no doubt his delivery will be emotive as it's rarely anything else on this type of song.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

There is nothing anyone can do ever to stop my loins tingling during that guitar solo.
it's not bad. Estranged is much better. I was never into novemeber rain

Listened to DaveVedder's guitar demo again - does it strike you as similar to Johnny Guitar vocal part?

Yeah it's pretty reminiscent of Johnny Guitar. That's OK.

There's an MP3 Button up there. I certainly hope Getaway is as cool as Johnny Guitar.

I think if anyone was turned off Johnny Guitar, it was because of the uncharacteristic lyrics.

ding ding ding. That's what mostly ruins it for me. I appreciate the song, but I just can't stand to listen to it very often because of that.
