You got it. I still don't know why you'd think that disqualifies me from voicing my thoughts. I listened again with the intention to like it. I really do want to like it. I just can't get over Ed. I can appreciate the songwriting, but Ed's performance just makes me cringe.

I guess... I don't necessarily want a polished SOUND.. but a polished product. If he's going for a messy, insecure, chaotic vibe, like he's making it up on the fly, he succeeded

I hear ya. When i compared the youtube video of that band covering it, the guy had no pronunciation errors but Ed's vocals on the same song sounded much better to me, though i cant really explain why.

I think I like every style of PJ song, but only when Ed's vocals don't make me cringe.

Named a few other highlights and Superblood Wolfman wasn't among them other than the album started and ended very strong. Which seems similar to some other reviews.

I'm ever optimistic that this song is middle of the pack on the album and I will at least enjoy getting to know the other songs.

He just said I will love it and it sounded amazing on dolby atmos. It was the first time I heard Quick Escape as high point though. So there's that. I'll edit this in. He loved the closing two. But that was par for what we heard already as well.

I was intrigued by Quick Escape being his standout because from what I had read from the original KidC I wasn’t that excited. And someone asked about Never Destination. I popped him a text. He didn’t mention it at all first time. Whether it’s hard to recall anything but the highlights or not - I am not sure.

Edit - he responded that Never Destination was very good. He lumped in Superblood as part of a very good rocking start. It mellows a bit. Then rocks a bit more than finishes in acoustic fashion. His takeaway was there wasn’t a weak song on the album it’s one of their most complete pieces of work in recent times. So there ya go. He can’t wait to hear it again. And that says a lot too I’m sure.

I would like an album that includes rockers but doesn't try to make its biggest statement with them; I don't want like several Future Days, but that's mainly about production and instrumentation and I already expect to be pleased on that front

I support this. I would love a totally experiments and different PJ album. I genuinely don’t care if there’s a single rocker on the album. I’d love them to make their equivalent of a Kid A album.
