It was OK, I guess.

I'm not one of those people who requires a plot to make perfect sense but it didn't make any sense at all in parts.
I could never quite see what they were going for

Some of the plot devices were frankly transparent

I'm frankly disturbed that you all would have the opacity to make such statements.

Watched Hail Satan? yesterday on my day off.
The film shows Satanists working to preserve the separation of church and state against the privilege of the Christian right.
it was pretty humorous in a lot of places and eye-opening in others. I especially loved the scene where Rapert was talking about Lucien Greaves and how that's not even his real name but is actually Douglas Mesner. the movie cuts then to him and he says "that's not my real name either."

I can definitely see the appeal of the organization as presented by Lucien and co. the problem is the Jex person in Detroit who starts out being all "yeah this is great" and slowly ramps things up to be militant. she gives a great radicalization speech near the middle of the movie, I can see a lot of people hearing that and thinking "she knows what she's talking about".

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

Still a powerful movie. Visuals are top notch, love the photography. The cast is superb.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I watched Mudbound. Decent movie, with an important message. I enjoyed both the acting and the look of the movie. The story was fairly straightforward, until a very typical twist, that I felt lost some of the appeal. Still overall I enjoyed it.

Brawl In Cell Block 99 was great. One of the best I’ve seen in a while.

love that one. you really really have to suspend your belief in the justice system and how quickly and efficiently it worked in the movie but otherwise brilliant.

Brawl is a Grand Guignol fantasy. One thing it does not even remotely attempt to do is depict the justice system realistically.

A prison with shards of glass on the floor, and everything else that was crazy in Cell Block 99.

It could have worked if they made the movie more true to life as well, but I thought it was excellent the way they made it.
