Gigaton also offers a masterclass in the lost art of sequencing
I think it wiggled a lil' bit there
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Okay, what we know so far about songwriters:
"Who Ever Said" - ?
"Superblood Wolfmoon" - Eddie
"Dance of the Clairvoyants" - Everyone
"Quick Escape" - Probably Jeff? (Bass driven/Killer drum loop by Jeff)
"Alright" - Jeff
"Seven O'Clock" - ?
"Never Destination" - ?
"Take the Long Way" - Matt
"Buckle Up" - Stone
"Comes Then Goes" - Description sounds like it's an Eddie song?
"Retrograde" - ?
"River Cross" - Eddie

I thought earlier reports said that it loses steam in the middle while the beginning and end were good.

that's what fan reports said, yes; these reviews apparently disagree

So the same reviewer that gave Lightning Bolt a "C-" gives Gigaton a "B+". That's encouraging.

Don't think the CoS reviewer thinks Retrograde is weak. He listed it as one of the 3 standouts (SBWM and Quick Escape being the other two).

He doesn't seem to mind River Cross either. Buckle Up and Comes Then Goes are probably the two he considers less than stellar.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

"The Stone Gossard-penned “Buckle Up” gently sways in as the album’s obvious outlier, a lullaby-like arrangement over ambling guitar that feels at odds with the song’s message if not always Vedder’s delivery."

That description actually makes me excited for it.

That's how i read it. Which makes sense those spots are kind of typically where the band sequences their albums lesser tracks....at least in the back half of their career.

Also now that we know all these reviewers have it...can we expect a leak in the coming days?

SBWM being a highlight instead of DOTC makes me doubt the taste of the CoS Reviewer. So him liking/not liking specific songs does not mean much to me.

Sounds like review copies are out there

Extremely fortunate to have received a review copy of the new Pearl Jam album - Gigaton. It's so great and think most of you will fall instantly in love with it. Look out for a full review over at Pancakes and Whiskey in the coming days. ✌

I believe he did praise DoTC as well for what it's worth.

Edit: Confused it with the other review. The CoS guy was not as effusive in his praise for DoTC.

Yes, that's what one of the reviewers wrote. I think it's (SBWM) ok, but hope it's not a top three track.

If they're sending out copies to random blogs or whatever, this is surely going to leak pretty soon.
