I always thought this band needed more female vocal presence to temper Ed's gruff American Dad presence, so I'm all about it

They specify studio albums. All of these examples are covers that weren’t on albums or the Neil stuff which was its own thing.

Agreed. That’s a great vocal. Hope for more like it.

These reviews have me overly excited for Alright, 7 O'Clock and Buckle Up

“ Pearl Jam sound more adventurous than they have in close to 20 years on Gigaton, but this is not their synth album or any other kind of holistic overhaul. It’s still a latter-day Pearl Jam album, of a piece with its immediate predecessors even as it sometimes spiritually recalls the middle years.”

This is precisely what I expected after hearing SBWM. I am very happy to hear this, but I do wish it leaned more into being creatively different from what they’ve done before. I would love PJ’s equivalent of a Kid A album.

Same. Quick Escape and Retrograde too. The latter particularly because of the “ghostly” atmosphere and reference to Hard Sun.

Like I said the other day, the embargo lifting weeks before the album comes out signals a confident band. Hope the release follows through.

Feels like this thing might leak by the end of this week. I mean, we’re close enough to release anyway, but I wouldn’t be mad if I heard this album sooner.

I really hope it does leak this early, obviously, but I'm surprised about people saying it's likely

Why has the rollout of this album been so wonky? From the weird augmented reality announcement to Bill Simmons leaking the first bit of DotC, to SBWM's silly augmented reality thing, then today when the embargo drops would have been perfect for a third single. But nothing...

This is the "No Malarkey Tour" of album roll outs
