Why would the band put out an album with the message of protecting and being caretakers of our Earth and then go on tour? That would be careless and irresponsible, the very thing they are standing against....We really don't know the extend of this, so like someone said here: better safe than sorry.lowlight79 wrote:Let's get real here, it's a virus, that most people ARE recovering from, there are hard hit areas in the world, but it's not a plague. That's a good point - forgot a few of those were festival gigs. and I agree - it definitely would seem to be easier to schedule around a schedule that's still in the works. Really bummed that this happened, but I get it. Just really happy that A) it's a postponement and not a cancellation and B) they will still honor the tix already bought for the original show at the rescheduled one.Monkey_Driven wrote: I doubt they will walk away from the festival/European money. Seems easier to just reschedule these dates around the framework of the Fall tour in development.

Bear in mind that the Euro dates are in the summer. There is a hope that the virus will be seasonal, and therefore we'll see a big big drop off in infection numbers during the warmer months.numbers wrote:I’ll be honest, if they don’t cancel the euro dates then it becomes fair to question whether this was a political statement and not about safety.
My guess is they'll give it another 6/8 weeks before they make a decision about the EU tour, which will give them sufficient time to see whether the virus is receding as summer arrives and therefore whether it's safer.
So I really wouldn't view this as a political move in any way. Although it does sound like Donald is the expert on coronavirus so he'll know already whether it's seasonal or not.

for any doubters i would just say pj is buying into the most important way to curtail this: flattening the curve.

Re: 2020 Tour (Rumors) (aka Gig A Ton) (aka Gigatour)
Seriously guys
the point is about flattening the curve. If everyone gets corona in the next couple of weeks, the whole healthcare system collapses (which is what is happening in Northern Italy). If we can win time by cancelling events, then there's less pressure on the healthcare system and everyone can get treated.
Belgium govt has also just advised to cancel all events of +1000 people for the coming weeks. And we have so far 250 confirmed cases & 0 deaths on a population of 10m.
This is not about money or festivals or politics. It's necessary & it's the only reasonable thing to do right now.

They are doing the right thing. And they are leading the way in terms of artists stepping up. It is something to applaud rather than show disdain.
Neither here nor there, and I do appreciate you do have concern for your vulnerable family, but it is imperative to have the percentages go down for their exposure to = possible instead of likely.
My two cents. Lets ride it out and enjoy the shows when they are able to happen. I would however, like them to put the album out sooner as a gift

Europe is still 3 months off. They cancelled this tour with about a week to go. Things could be very different in early June on a continent where leaders address the problem.numbers wrote:I’ll be honest, if they don’t cancel the euro dates then it becomes fair to question whether this was a political statement and not about safety.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I'm sitting here at 96 minutes and counting on a call (mostly holding) to try and change or cancel the flights I had booked.

The nice thing about having status is we have a special number to call. Was able to cancel a flight today in 10 minutes.Bammer wrote:I'm sitting here at 96 minutes and counting on a call (mostly holding) to try and change or cancel the flights I had booked.

My girlfriend is going to see Celine Dion this weekend and she hasn’t cancelled.
Celine Dion has more integrity and balls than Purell Jom confirmed.
